Volta Cookie Policy

Effective 28 July 2026 v3 · Last updated 28 July 2026

1. About this Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Volta Infrastructure Holdings Limited ("Volta", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on volta.com (the "Site").

It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we handle personal data more generally.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit the website. They allow the website to recognise your device, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the website.

"Similar technologies" include tools such as pixels, web beacons, local storage and software development kits (SDKs). References to "cookies" in this Cookie Policy include both cookies and similar technologies.

3. The types of cookies we use

We group cookies into four categories:

Strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the Site to function. This type of cookie cannot be switched off. Examples include cookies that remember your cookie preferences, and security cookies that help to protect against fraud.

Functional cookies. These remember choices you make to improve your experience - e.g. your preferred language or region. While the Site can function without them, some features may be less convenient to use.

Analytics cookies. These help us understand how visitors use the Site so that we can improve its performance and user experience. They collect data such as the pages visited, the time spent on the Site, and how visitors arrive at the Site. We use this data in aggregated form.

Marketing cookies. These help us measure the effectiveness of our marketing activity (e.g. by identifying whether a visitor who clicked on a particular advert later completes a form on the Site). They may be placed by us or by third party platforms.

We only place non-essential cookies (functional, analytics, marketing) where you give us consent through our cookie banner.

4. The specific cookies and tracking technologies we use

5. Internet-based advertising trackers - detail

Volta is not currently running third-party advertising or retargeting campaigns, so no advertising pixels are active on the Site. The tools below are the ones actually in use today, for analytics and lead capture - not paid advertising.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is used to collect information about how visitors use the Site. The data analysed includes device type, browser, IP, and interaction data. This data is processed in accordance with Google's terms.

Hotjar collects information about how visitors interact with the Site to help us improve functionality and user experience. In particular, it is used to generate heatmaps, scroll maps and (where enabled) session recordings. We configure Hotjar to anonymise or exclude sensitive form fields. You can opt out via the link in our Cookie Policy or via Hotjar's own opt-out at hotjar.com.

HubSpot Forms supports forms and tracks interactions with the Site to help us manage enquiries and measure the effectiveness of our marketing activities.

6. How to manage cookies

Through our cookie banner. When you first visit the Site, you can set your cookie preferences through the banner. You can change those preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer.

We use Cloudflare to manage your preferences.

Through your browser. Most browsers allow you to view, manage, delete and block cookies for a particular website. You can usually find these settings under "Preferences" or "Options" or under "Privacy" or "Security". Note that disabling all cookies may affect your ability to use the Site.

For more information about how to manage cookies in different browsers, please refer to the links below:

  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari
  • Edge

Opt-out tools. You can opt out of certain marketing cookies using the following industry tools:

  • The Network Advertising Initiative at networkadvertising.org
  • The Digital Advertising Alliance at aboutads.info
  • The European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance at youronlinechoices.eu

7. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no consistent industry standard for how to respond to this signal, so we do not currently respond to it. We rely on your choices in the cookie banner instead.

8. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this Cookie Policy indicates when it was most recently updated. The version published on the Site from time to time is the current version.

9. Contact

If you have any questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at: privacy@volta.com.
